See one. Do one. Teach one.

That’s a phrase you hear a lot in the veterinarian industry. A concept of how we learn, and how our learning promotes the same in others. Understanding a concept well enough to feel confident to share that knowledge with another person is a state I am constantly chasing.

When I was in my final year of vet school I thought I would end up working rurally in mixed practice, instead a chance opportunity to help out in a teaching lab opened my eyes to a completely different side of the industry. Now in my sixth year out, and with an extra degree and memberships under my belt, I still find myself always so excited to be able to teach and share the knowledge that I have with others. And always excited to learn more.

While I greatly enjoy clinical practice I also love my downtime. I have two cats, Rizz a foster-fail from the RSPCA, and Fidget, a kitten born early in the 2020 kitten season who I hand reared (with some lessons in how to cat curtesy of Rizz!). I am also a competitive powerlifter, so you’ll often catch me at the gym!
